EMILIA BADYARI: DAL LAKE, SRINAGAR, INDIA
Dal Lake, with its vastness and hidden corners, presents a captivating duality. In its middle, silence reigns supreme, offering a serene escape. The lake embodies two worlds—a bustling tourist hub and secluded sanctuaries. Another duality that characterizes Dal Lake is the paradoxical combination of its partly clean surface and the grass that contributes to the lake’s pollution. On the shore of Dal Lake, I find my second home.

ABOUT THE ARTISTThe sea is my essence, having been born in Rauma, Finland. The scent of saltiness is forever etched in my memories. Through marriage, I gained a new family near the Himalayas, immersing myself in two distinct yet intertwined worlds. I hold both a Master of Arts (Art Education) and a degree in Political Science.
In my art, I am a keen observer of my surroundings. Exploring diverse paths and wandering fills me with delight, allowing me to see both the close and the distant, always seeking the hidden depths behind the obvious. |
